Growing up as a young boy in Wayne, PA, Paul turned to acting as a way to receive attention and a wanting to perform and express himself. Since age 5 he played in numerous school and community plays.
It was in the summer of his senior year at Radnor High that he took an acting program at Northwestern University that became the impetus toward his pursuance of acting as a profession. After graduation he attended Princeton where he studied dramatic literature and drama, and minored in theater.
An avid fan of theater, Paul appeared in many Princeton productions. He has also played on Broadway and other theaters across New York.
In he portrayed Casey Bowman, a drug-addicted romantic on the now cancelled soap "Loving".
Originally cast by Guiding Light for six months, Paul was granted a contract after an overwhelming favortism reaction from fans.
